Mind in the Making (MITM) shows what professionals, parents, and caregivers can do to strengthen the critical executive function skills in children that help them manage their thoughts, actions, and emotions to achieve goals.
Executive function skills have been linked to success in school and in adulthood, as well as health and wealth later in life. NHSA is proud to partner with the Bezos Family Foundation to help ensure the Head Start field supports and encourages the important executive function-based skills children need to thrive.

Bring the Mind in the Making training to your community!
Our network of certified facilitators lead participants through eight MITM learning modules that examine child development principles. Designed to help bridge the gap between knowledge and practice, the MITM training supports participants in creating practical action plans to promote brain development and strengthen parent-child relationships.
Over the past seven years, MITM has trained nearly 100,000 educators, community leaders, families, and professionals from education, libraries, medical facilities, museums, home visiting, parent education, churches, juvenile justice, and more. Though not limited to the Head Start community, this training is ideal for Head Start leadership, front-line staff, parents, and parent policy councils.
