2024 Head Start Birthday Celebration
The entire Head Start community celebrated Head Start’s 59th birthday, with children, teachers, parents, national leaders, alums, advocates, zoo babies, and partners all joining the fun!
In Classrooms
Hundreds of Head Start and Early Head Start programs shared their birthday celebrations which included music, art, and learning.
With the Smithsonian Institution
Thousands of students around the country attended an exciting, virtual “ Zoo in the Classroom” birthday field trip, co-hosted by NHSA and our education partners at the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute.
There were goats, pigs, lots of singing and dancing, lessons about bodies and the five senses, and plenty of curious questions (and answers)! A huge thank you to the Smithsonian, Nick the Music Man, Pinky Jackalope and of course, all of our Head Start children, teachers, and families for joining in on the fun and making Head Start’s birthday one to remember!
