NHSA Recognizes Congressional Leaders with 2017 Awards

WASHINGTON, D.C. – NHSA will host a Congressional Breakfast during the 2017 Winter Leadership Institute that will include members of Congress as well as Head Start leaders and alumni. Six members of Congress will also be honored with NHSA’s PROMISE award, “Protecting Our Most Important Students Early,” for their enthusiastic and continued support of the Head Start advantage.

Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA-5); Rep. Danny Davis (D-IL-7); Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA-15); Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN-5); Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS-2); and Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN-4) Head Start champions will discuss the pivotal role Head Start plays in the lives of our nation’s most vulnerable children.

With eyes on the future and a renewed national commitment to Head Start, PNC Bank senior vice president and Head Start alumna Terri Copeland will join several members of Congress to speak about Head Start’s transformative impact.
