Combining the best of online learning with live instruction sessions, this course helps educators build their confidence in leading music and movement activities that enhance children’s school readiness skills.
Prepare to get children on their feet, moving their bodies, and flexing their imaginations! Participating in high-quality music and movement programming has been shown to enhance children’s language, physical, social/emotional, and cognitive skills. NHSA’s Music and Movement Essentials at The Academy gives educators the skills and tools they need to bring active, engaging music and movement into the classroom.
This course is built for teachers and coaches! You will learn the skills needed to manage classrooms of any size, including how to establish clear expectations, set boundaries, anticipate problems, and react proactively when they do.

- Course Meeting Times: In addition to on-demand coursework, mandatory live instruction sessions are held Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. ET. Please note that the session time is subject to change based on facilitator’s availability.

Learning Objectives:
- At the end of this eight-week course, participants will be able to select and integrate music and movement activities into daily classroom curriculum. Participants will also learn how to adapt material to engage infants and toddlers and children with disabilities.
