Rachael DeSpain, from the Tri-County Opportunity Council in Illinois, testified before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies. She called on Congress to meet NHSA’s fiscal year 2022 funding request, providing quality improvement funds to address childhood trauma, expanding operating hours to give parents more flexibility to work, and improving compensation for the Head Start workforce.
