On behalf of Head Start and Early Head Start, NHSA writes this sign-on letter to voice our strong support for the administration adding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to its definition of “public assistance” for the purposes of Head Start eligibility. This change would enable Head Start programs to recruit and enroll children and families who are struggling to recover from the
devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and in dire need of support.
