NHSA, alongside 23 organizations and individuals, submitted comments in response to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child General Comment No. 26: Children’s rights and the environment with a special focus on climate change.

In the comments, NHSA and our co-signers acknowledged that meaningful, sustainable, comprehensive solutions to the climate crisis must span across sectors and constituencies. We came together from the fields of early childhood, public health, maternal health, birth justice, environmental justice, and more to provide additional considerations to ensure that efforts to advance climate justice for young children are also inclusive of infants, families, and all early care and learning settings.
