Program Recording: Congressional Program Visits: An Impactful Way to Illustrate the Value of Head Start

Program Description: You can describe to a member of Congress or their staff the value your program provides to children, families, and the community in an email, a letter, a phone call, or a meeting in the member’s office. But the most impactful—and tangible—means of sharing your story and getting support from those members is getting them to visit your program in person. We will help you with the whys and hows of scheduling a visit.

Learning Objective: Understanding the importance of visits to Head Start programs by members of Congress in helping shape their decision-making.
