When developing an apprenticeship model for an early childhood program, one of the major challenges that apprentices often face is the lack of subject matter alignment in their coursework, and having to do work over when colleges don’t accept previous coursework (lack of articulation agreements). Join us to learn from this panel discussion with higher education representatives in states that are tackling this challenge with an inspired and unified approach! Pamm Shaw is the former Director of Strategic Funding and Partnerships for the YMCA of the East Bay. Prior to this role, she served as the VP/Executive Director of the YMCA Early Childhood Impact Branch. |
Pamm has extensive experience in implementing programs, professional development and managing multiple funding sources and is known for her innovative programs.
In 2016, Pamm and her team created the YMCA Early Educator Apprentice program – training Head Start/child care parents and community members to become early learning professionals. Since that time, over 400 participants have completed coursework, degrees and permits in this program. |
