Certification Renewal

To renew a certification, register for this course and submit proof of completion of the certificate granted by The Academy, and verify which certification is being renewed. Then submit three professional reflections and proof of continued professional learning completed within the last five years. Once everything is submitted, a reviewer will verify the materials and a renewed certificate will be issued.

  • Course Level: Advanced
  • Requirements: Academy Certification (Health Services, Family Services, Fiscal Management)
  • Completion Timeline: Candidates will have access to this course for 60 days. Gathering the materials needed for this process can be time consuming, but can be started prior to enrolling, using this checklist. Once everything is gathered, the submission process will take approximately 25 minutes to complete. Once all assignment uploads are complete, the review and certification renewal process takes approximately 30 days.

Dr. B served as director of the Office of Head Start from 2018-21. From 2019-21 she broadened her leadership as director of the Office of Early Childhood Development in the Administration for Children and Families. Known as “Dr. B” to former students and teachers, she spent three decades in pre-K–12 public education as a classroom teacher and school administrator. She currently serves as deputy director for Community Engagement and Innovation at the National Head Start Association.
